HELP US HONOUR THE SURVIVORS OF RAPE IN WAR

Making Herstory, in partnership with the Komola Collective and OpenVizor are working to produce Rising Silence: a ground-breaking docu-film highlighting the impact of rape and sexual violence in conflict upon survivors of the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence.

Despite being honoured with the term ‘Birangona’ (meaning ‘Brave Woman’), a majority of the estimated 400,000 women and girls raped by the Pakistani army and their Bengali collaborators during this war, were ousted from their homes and communities. Many continue to live in abject poverty, “shamed” for the crime of having been violated.

Rising Silence intends to honour these women and their stories – before they literally die out. And we need YOUR help to achieve this goal.

We have now completed stages 1, 2 and 3 of our production, and urgently need to raise £35,000 to see through all post-production works.
