Thank you to everyone who joined us on the night of Thursday 9th February for our first every fundraising concert!
Thanks to your love and support, we raised over £1,900 for the production of Rising Silence: a ground-breaking docu-film highlighting the lives and experiences of the ‘Birangona’ women of Bangladesh (survivors of strategic rape crimes committed during the 1971 War for Independence).
Our especial thanks to the wonderful Shahadat Hossain for donating four beautiful photographs for our silent auction; our light, John Baker, who also took it upon himself to hand-make the frames for those astounding photographs; Mita Chowdhury for hosting; and our musicians – the Satyen Sen School of Performing Arts; Sahana Bajpaie and Lokkhi Terra.
Thank you all for helping us celebrate the lives of the Birangona women of Bangladesh, and helping us move a step closer to completing this crucial film.
If you were unable to attend the concert but would like to donate towards the film, please do so HERE, highlighting “Rising Silence” as your project of choice.
